City U MA Graduates Win Five Paper Awards at Graduate Student Symposium

CityU MA graduates won five excellent paper awards at the 6th Graduate Student Symposium of The Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium.

 
The 6th Graduate Student Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium was held at Communication University of China in Beijing during October 10-11, 2014. Eight MA graduates form the Department of Media and Communication, City University of Hong Kong presented papers at the symposium. The selected papers based on anonymous review covered a broad range of topics such as social media use, effects of new media applications, and the effect of advertising. These topics reflect the diversity of academic inquiry and approaches, and represent the quality of research of the graduate students of the department. Five papers presented at the symposium won excellent paper awards, including papers presented by Shen Zifang, Zou Piao, Zhai Jian, Lin Yanshan, and the Shen Shanshan research team.

 
The graduate symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium is a forum for presenting and discussing journalism and communication research among the graduate students from universities in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It is one of the major joint activities of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium, which is found in March 2009 by four universities, Communication University of China, City University of Hong Kong, Fudan University, and National Taiwan University.

 
The 1st Postgraduate Student Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium was held at City University of Hong Kong in November 2009. The 7th  Postgraduate Student Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium will be held in October 2015 at Fudan University in Shanghai.
