COM Cosponors a U.S.-China Media Conference with U Mass

The Department of Media and Communication cosponors a conference, entitled “The Future of U.S.-China Media Communication and Public Diplomacy in a Post-Crisis World,” with the University of Massachusetts and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, to be held in Amherst, MA from 23 to 25 August 2011. 



This marks the fourth conference of this kind. Previous conferences were held in Wuhan, Hong Kong, and Macao.



Professor Lee Chin-Chuan will represent COM as a co-organizer of the conference; he will do the conference summary report and chair a panel, “National Stereotypes and Media Representation,” consisting of Dr. He Zhou, Dr. Chen Ni, and Ph.D. stduent Song Yunya. 



Ph.D. students Yi Yan, Liu Jing, and Wang Zhenzhen have their papers accepted for presentation. Several former participants of COM's mainland young scholars program will attend the conference as well.
