In the latest competition for the Major Grants of National Social Science Foundation of China (NSSFC), Prof. Jonathan Zhu obtained a sub-contracted project on “Data-driven Methods for Computational Communication Research.” The project is one of the five sub-contracted projects of the Major Grant on “Theories, Methods, and Applications of Computational Communication Research in the Big Data Age”, led by Prof. Naipeng Chao of Shenzhen University, where Prof. Zhu is currently carrying out research for his sabbatical leave. Prof. Zhu’s team includes Dr. Xiaofan Liu of the Department, Dr. Hai Liang of Chinese University of Hong Kong, and several doctoral students of his Web Mining Lab.
This is the fourth sub-contacted project under NSSFC Major Grant Scheme Prof. Zhu has obtained. Previously, he also served as a Co-PI in three other Major Grants, coordinated respectively by Shanghai Jiaotong University, Jinan University, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
