A CityU MA graduate won the Second Prize paper award at the 7th Postgraduate Student Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium.
The 7th Postgraduate Student Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium was held at Fudan University in Shanghai during November 28-29, 2015. Five MA graduates from the Department of Media and Communication, City University of Hong Kong presented papers at the symposium. The selected papers based on anonymous review covered a broad range of topics such as social media use, effects of media exposure on risk perception, and social responsibility communication. These topics reflect the diversity of academic inquiry and approaches, and represent the quality of research of the graduate students of the department. Liang Zerui’s paper “Does Viewing TV Dramas Produced by Different Regions Result in Different Love Attitude among Chinese Audience?” won the Second Prize.
The Postgraduate Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium is a forum for presenting and discussing journalism and communication research among the graduate students from the universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. It is one of the major joint activities of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium, which was found in March 2009 by four universities: Communication University of China, City University of Hong Kong, Fudan University, and National Taiwan University. University of Macau joined the Consortium in 2014 as the fifth member.
The 1st Postgraduate Student Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium was held at City University of Hong Kong in November 2009. The 8th Postgraduate Student Symposium of the Chinese Journalism and Communication Consortium will be held in October 2016 at National Taiwan University in Taipei.
